In November we had our pre-Christmas GM meeting followed by a social out in London. We went to Birdies in Angel where some of us where much better at golf than others!

The Quay Street Whalers came to play at the Jolly Sailor. The band is made up of people from Orford village and the whole village gets involved

Chester came to visit!
We have a huge passion for D’arenberg wine so were obviously very excited when Chester cam over from Australia to visit
At an event very kindly hosted by Enotria at SIX in Cambridge our senior team got to spend some time with Chester, learning all about the wine making, stories behind the wine and the different grape varieties

This summer we added dog ice cream to all of our menus, as you can see it’s a real hit with our four legged friends!

This July we took the keys to a brand new site – The Jolly Sailor in Orford.
With 4 boutique bedrooms, a beautiful garden and orchard as well and an interior full of character and charm. This pub has been here since the 17th century and we’re so proud to be part of its history.
Whether you’re visiting via the water, we’re a stone throw from the quay or escaping the countryside the Jolly Sailor is full of charm and history. Bob our Head Chef has been working hard on a fresh seasonal menu making the most of all of the wonderful produce Suffolk has to offer.
July saw us opening with a roaring start, and once the team have found their feet we can’t wait to show you what we can do!
June 2022
There was lots to celebrate in June! All of the pubs got behind jubilee with some super creative dessert specials, live music and tributes to the queen
The Wellington also participated in the Welwyn Oscars where the team were nominated for an award for their free meals for school children during lockdown
Unfortunately we didn’t win but were beaten by a worthy cause! Congrats to team Tesco!

Alot of things happening this month as we get ready for a busy summer season!
We’re very proud to say The Wellington has maintained their 5 star AA rating and 1 rosette status – Congrats team!
This month we also hosted another Masterclass. This time on Bread. Kristof the Head Chef from Stolen taught our CDP’s all about pizza dough, bread & bagels!

Fish Masterclass
This month our training focus for the kitchen teams was all things fish! Jack our kitchen leader taught the teams all about how to look after, prepare & cook fresh fish & shellfish. We learnt how to fillet seabass & plaice, break down a whole salmon and prepare scallops
